Hi! I am a healthy, energetic grandma who is greatly blessed with two adorable grandson's & wonderful family & friends. I have recently moved to Oshawa to be closer to my grandchildren. My availability for employment is 40 hours/week from Monday to Friday within the hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm anywhere from Markham to Courtice. My experience as a certified P.S.W. in a nursing home setting was delightful! During my fun years of working as a Program Assistant with Ontario Early Years, I greatly enjoyed developing and facilitating nutrition/safe food handling workshops for parents/grandparents & at risk participants as well as the joy of presenting pre-school programs to the children. Office experience from bookkeeping to filing to inventory maintenance has equipped me to carry out specific duties as a personal assistant/concierge. I like everything well-organized, accurately recorded & at my fingertips. You will find me to be flexible, trustworthy, kind-hearted, cheerful, respectful, well-groomed, independent as well as a cohesive team player with excellent communication, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills, adhering to your specific instructions. I have greatly enjoyed providing companionship: walks, reading, correspondence, gentle exercise, cognitive stimulation for a sense of well-being that also enhances behaviour. Experience working with people with various issues: dementia, post stroke, mentally, emotionally & physically challenged. Performing personal care, toileting, dressing, changing attends & bathing. Recording intake & output of fluids, food & bowel protocol. Recording meds, monitoring & reporting physical, emotional, social & spiritual changes. As a volunteer Community Food Advisor (a 1 yr. program sponsored by the Ministries of Health/Agriculture)I obtained certification in Food Safety and National Sanitation. Have work, volunteer & personal experience in Palliative Care & Grief Support with adults & children, with a focus on comfort measures & preserving memories.
