Hello, my name is Milagros Diaz, i am 27 years old. I am looking for a job a soon as possible, i have experience working with senior care or people with disabilty. i studied nursing in my country for 4 years, but now i am living in calgary for 4 years. i have my open work permit. Live-in Caregivers- Elderly care Mrs. Doris Ventosilla March 2009- May 2010 Job description: • Assist an elderly married couple in their 90s -the wife in a wheelchair and the husband with a permanent oxygen needs. • Provide Personal Care: Female assist personal Hygiene with comode, toileting, dressing, grooming and others aspect of personal care. • Assist them with prescribed exercise and stretching program. • Transfer from the bed to the comode back to the bed with manual lifter. • Administrate bedside care. • Administrate doctors’ prescribed medications including morphine. • Take the couple shopping and make appointments with podiatritian, laboratory, hearing loss clinic. • Request to the Pharmacy the refill of oxygen, prescriptions. • Place orders for underwear and diapers. • Make booking to the handy bus. • Assist in emergency case: calling to 911 and contacting the nurse and doctor. • Check vital signs: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, level sugar. • Assist First Aid • Provide emotional and physical comfort to employer in a sensitive manner. • Perform homemaking activities: housekeeping. • Laundry: clothing and household linens. • Shopping • Prepare and cook meals. • Other related duties as assigned.
