Elder Care in Calgary, Alberta

I am a retired, very alert, fit, active funny and young at heart 72 year old lady and proud grandmother of two. I would love to share my quality time by caring PART TIME for a senior citizen who needs assistance at their home, or would like to go for coffee or shopping, an event (if mobile) or just stay at home with friendly company. I'd like to be a companion. I could do their hair and nails (hands and feet). They usually love this treat. A little history as follows: I am a practicing Catholic. I am complemented often that I have a very calm, positive, friendly and warm demeanour. I have worked many years on myself and I believe that if your heart is full then you have a lot to share. I speak fluent German (I would be able and willing to teach conversational German along with my care as well). I took in, and raised handicapped Foster children for over 25 years. I also owned my own Dayhome for over 15 years. I have helped care for my elderly friends and relatives in the past. And continue to do so for a few of them presently at the Bethany care center. (I visit and bring good conversation and laughter as well as help to groom them when needed). I have a car. I am flexible with my hours. I would like to work in the NW. I am open to discussing and negotiating wage and hours. My retirement has left this once busy, busy businesswoman and homemaker with too much time on her hands (So to speak lightly). My desire is to stay busy doing what I love to do; which is care for others whether they are young or old. In my opinion, there is nothing that sounds more beautiful than the laughter coming from a child or an elderly person. Not to mention the touching moments when the sparkle in the eye of the elderly person who has been touched by joy radiates around you. I have decided to put my expertise out there for a loving family to take me into consideration. Long-term or short-term is fine with me. My primary goal is to help others...and having a little extra pocket money would give me giggles. Also, both parties happy!
