Elder Care Job in Toronto, Ontario

We are looking for a strong physically able PSW/caregiver to assist our elderly father, who is slowly gaining back his mobility - currently in a rehab hospital. • Age – 86 -year-old, Height - 5’3”, Weight- Approximately 140lbs • PSW must have experience in transfers and the ability to provide assistance when walking. DAILY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITY Able to handle a patient's height and weight during transfers and walking up/down using a chairlift Assistance with grooming & bathing Assistance with toileting & incontinence Prior Catheter care knowledge desirable • Must have a passion to work with the elderly and a positive attitude. • Must be able to motivate, encourage and converse with the patient - Light housekeeping tasks (washroom cleaning dusting, vacuuming and mopping) & light meal preparation assistance (ie. Cutting vegetables) when patient doesn’t need care Hourly: $17-20/hr [Potential hours - 9 -12 pm 5-8:30 pm] ***Willing to sponsor, hire a live-in or live out (full or part-time can be considered) Required: • First Aid/CPR • Police Check Vulnerable Sector • COVID -19 (Must be Fully Vaccinated, including booster) • Must have a car to travel to work An asset if you have a background in • Physiotherapy/Kinesiology • Nursing • Past/Present Military experience Coaching/Motivation Activities (will be explained in more detail in person): • Morning showers for father • Stretching of muscles, legs, arms massage • Exercise with the patient (T5XR machine), kicking soccer ball etc. • Hand Dexterity movements • Walks outside using wheelchair Job Location: Scarborough (Victoria Park and St. Clair) Please call or text: 416-710-...
