Elder Care in Marietta, Georgia

I have a special place in my heart for seniors. I have always loved to just sit and listen as they tell me the story of their lives, taking you back to a simpler time. There is so much to be learned if we take the time to sit and listen. My experience includes being a Mom and raising 4 boys and becoming a Grandma! Worked as a patient care provider at Mt Carmel Hospice house in Rochester NY. While there I had experience working with patients who had Alzheimer's, Dementia, Cancer and everything in between. For some people working in a hospice is depressing work for me it was a joy to be able to spend time with someone who was reaching the end of their life. Being able to contribute to their comfort, as well as their families comfort, during a very important and difficult time in their lives was such blessing. While there I provided the following patient care. I assisted in baths, back rubs, oral hygiene and shampoos. -Changed bed linens -Took and recorded temperatures and blood pressure -Assisted in dressing and undressing patients -Provided care to skin and nails -Assisted in ambulation and exercise -Performed light laundry tasks -Planned and prepared nutritious meals, including shopping of groceries. -Assisted in feeding the patient.
