Hello! My name is Cory Hivner. I am certified in Dementia Care, caregiving morals ethics and safety, and founded a 501 C3 nonprofit focused solely on providing aid for Dementia & Alzheimer's, Freebob Company. I am upon completion of a bachelor's in Gerontology, a dietician certification and will become recognized as a registered nurse in a year and a half. From there, I will focus on a certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing. My first experience of care was for my grandfather, who had lewy body dementia. Since then have cared for four other patients. Providing the proper support for Dementia patients is very dear to me. Dementia is a neurodegenerative disease that, unfortunately, has no cure. As time progresses, the person affected will experience multiple personality differences, behavioral changes and need more help with their activities of daily living (ADL's). These include activities such as bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, daily nutrition, daily physical activity and a continued social life. Maintaining a sense of independence is a crucial factor among those being cared for. I have been trained to handle nonmedical in-home health care for Dementia & Alzheimer's patients while maintaining a sense of independence for the person being cared for.
