I'm an
Individual
David Strand RN 836 Anacapa St # 162, Santa Barbara 93102 [email protected] 805-883-... I’m thrilled to fulfill a dream of moving to Santa Barbara where I have created both roots and community. I am passionate about nursing as it gives me opportunity to both perform evidence based care while promoting disease prevention. I am a perfect candidate to work in Home Health or an outpatient Clinic or in SB because not only has my 8 years working as a Home Health RN / Case Manager familiarized me with your patient population, I’ve been inside their homes where the entire family has been my patient. I have instructed children to perform wound care on grandparents as well have performed many IV infusions and venipunctures on clients from Montecito mansions to sober livings. With strong interpersonal skills and a terrific ability to get along Doctors and staff, I promote trust, respect and collaboration in all my endeavors. Further, competing in a tennis circuit I developed the capacity to focus under pressure. Teaching English in the Middle East I honed my ability to be culturally sensitive. Owning and operating a workout and yoga studio has given me in-depth experience in working with others as well as motivating and responding to the needs of individuals. Finally, my volunteer work facilitating bereavement support groups, taught me the significance of active listening. My experience, education and clinical practice have provided me with an outstanding knowledge of acute patient care, family relations and staff dynamics. • Eight years of extensive patient care in Home Health settings. Further experience in PACU, Neurology and Post Surgery hospital units as well as floating to an Oncology Infusion Center and Hyperbaric Chamber Clinic. I also case managed patients in Casa Esperanza administering IV and wound care therapies at that facility. • Case Managed at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care Santa Barbara for three years where I saw a need for and developed a patient admissions template for new nurses. • Received the Sopman Humanitarian Award based on my work on the post cardiac surgery unit at Toronto General Hospital. • Case Manager for 5 years at Glendale Adventist Medical Center where, because of my superior computer skills, management appointed me to take other nurses out on visits to instruct them on ‘point of care charting’. My strong sense of empathy and exceptional organizational skills, combined with my ability to work well under pressure, will enable me to make a substantial contribution to any health care team. Healthfully, David Strand RN David Strand RN pg 2 Career Objectives: Be a committed staff RN and team player in a challenging and dynamic Clinic providing evidence based care to a diverse population.
