Elder Care in Toronto, Ontario

I am an actor living in Parkdale, Toronto. I don't have any professional experience in elderly care, but I have lots of experience babysitting and nannying, and more importantly, taking care of my grandma who is 83 and has parkinsons. Besides, the odd household tasks (I can cook/clean/garden), I think my main skills would provide good companionship. As an actor, I can sing, read, tell good stories, but foremost, I am a great listener. Both my grandpas had dementia, and I know this takes a great deal of patience, and understanding. Lastly, I grew up on a farm so I tend to think of myself as a hardy person, who isn't easily fazed, and has a good work ethic. One thing I should note, being an actor, my schedule is pretty inconsistent. I am in the union so I don't work on the weekends (however, I tend bar occasionally Thurs/Fri/orSat nights), but I do work here and there in TV/film, as well as, in theatre, which can be unforgiving to last minute changes. This being said, I think a job best suited for me would be something that is flexible, and more for companionship than having to rely on a consistent schedule.
