I am seeking the positions of Recreation Therapist, companion, respite provider. I am a trained Recreation Therapist, Diploma from Mohawk College in Recreation Therapy. Supporting and maintaining wellness means addressing all domains of health: emotional, physical, social, spiritual, and intellectual/cognitive. I encourage physical activation and participation from your loved one in activities of daily living (ADLs) whenever possible. My strengths creatively engaging people in what is meaningful to them and in their ADLs (cleaning, cooking, sewing, etc.). I can run errands with your loved one and escort him/her on outings. I love infusing the day with exercise, whether formal or through leisure and ADLs. I am trained to lead senior exercise classes. I cam come to your home or the home of your loved (even if this is in a long-term care facility). I am a calm, understanding, friendly lady, who values each human being, no matter what his/her mental or physical state. In supporting your loved one, I am also there to support you. I am close with my niece, nephews and grandparents. I incorporate clients' family members into their leisure, and keep community intergenerational programming on my radar, both for myself and for my clients. I have personal and professional experience working with seniors who have dementia. I frequently brought stories to share, napkins to fold and create indoor picnics for my grandmother at her long-term care home. 2.3 years a recreation staff at a home for dementia care and palliative care, sparked my passion for exercising other's capabilities, allowing them to shine. I can provide cooking, laundry, light cleaning. I love cooking for myself and my family. I am looking for part time or full time work, days or evenings. Fluent in English. Fairly competent in French. Decent Spanish and Basic Hebrew.
