As a registered staff nurse in the hospital, I have worked in different areas as rotational basis like emergency room, medical ward, surgical ward, pediatric ward, ob-gyne ward and geriatric ward and my duties includes: assessing, reporting, observing patient's condition, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, charting, tube feeding, inserting foley catheters, tube feedings, intravenous fluid nurse, etc. As an elderly caregiver,I have worked with Italian and Jewish elderly before with the cases of dementia, hypertension, cancer, stroke and kidney problems. My duties are observing and reporting their conditions, assessing their needs, preparing nutritious meals, enhancing their memory like creating card game, memory game, bringing them to community centre, having a walk, exercise, personal care, hygiene, monitoring their blood pressure, assisting their medication, refilling medication from pharmacy, bed making, housekeeping, laundry, etc. My last client has stroke and she was suffering from aphasia, which she has difficulty in her speech so I used to act as a speech therapists for her, teaching her to read, write and express the words she wants to say.
