Elder Care in Harlingen, Texas

My name is Kristie Trejo and I have been in patient care since 1992. I received my Emergency Medical Technician and worked for EMS on an ambulance for almost 17 years. At this time I am a shift Supervisor at MHMR STATE HOSPITAL. We take care of patients with mental health issues or developmental disabilities. Working with patients here is not the same as caring for someone that is not Independent, may have Alzheimer's or dementia, but I think working at the center has made me a better care giver my having ALOT of patients, I am a multi tasker and a fast learner. The only reason I'm wanting to leave is due to the patients that are coming I n are becoming more and more aggressive and we are being attacked more and having to do a lot of restraints. I am 45 years old and I still have plenty more work to do and patients to meet and I think if I stay there my time of being physically able to stay in patient care would come to an end a lot sooner. I am currently CPR/Fist Aid certified and I work well under pressure and I am very attentive to my patient and responsibilities to make sure everything gets completed on a daily basis.
